Some New Friends

It's been awhile, followers!

A lot of things have been going on lately so it's been hard to update!

We've added two new friends to our AG collection within the week!

Puppy Sugar and Bitty Baby!

We found Sugar at BJ's while we were doing some food shopping! We got Bitty Baby from Ebay for only $20! :) She is in pretty good condition but we may send her off to the doll hospital for a new body sometime in the future.

I've also been busy crafting away!

I found the idea from my favorite website, Pinterest. They are tank top or t-shirt dresses. It's so easy if you have basic sewing skills. (And I'm a beginner!!)

All you need is about a yard or two of fabric (depending on the size dress you're making), tank top/t-shirt, and basic sewing supplies.

Here are the two dresses I've made so far:

I love them and so does Kay. :) I'm thinking about selling them in my Etsy shop!

Sell It!

So I've decided to open up and try to promote my Ebay and Etsy Shops!

My best friend and I make polymer clay items and we also have American Girl doll furniture and bedding for sale.

If you would rather purchase from us off those sites, we can do that too through PayPal or Google.

Remember, these sites are BRAND spankin' new so there isn't much in them yet, but stay tuned for more soon!!

If you have any requests, feel  free to contact me too!

Thrifty Monday!

If you don't already know, Monday's are the best day to hit up your local Goodwill or thirft stores
.
Why?

After a weekend of yard sales, where else do people drop what is left over?!

You guessed it! :)

I'm always on the hunt for a good bargin. I have about 5 local Goodwills in my area so I get a reasonable selection. Today my best friend and I ventured out to do some treasure hunting.

I ended up with a purple/pink Leapster Handheld game system ($10), three games ($2.99 each), and 2 Jumpstart CD-ROM Computer games ($1.99 each)! All in great condition!!

How can you beat that!?!?

I have to admit that the only things I do not buy from thrift stores are some clothes, bedding, and stuffed animals. Just for sanitary reasons, usually. That is just my PERSONAL preference. It does not mean that you can't! :)

What is the best thing you've found at a thrift store or discount store? Please share!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers out there!

Since we spent the day out and about in DC yesterday, we are taking a chill day today. Nothing excited going on besides washing school uniforms, cleaning, and doing a little sewing.

I did find this great website from Pinterest that had some cute sewing patterns for American Girl sized dolls. It's cute because they also have the coordinating patterns for big girls too! I'm thinking of buying one and trying it!

Check it out.

Today Kaydence also wanted to change Julie out of her oringinal outfit. Crazy kid! I let her and this is what we came up with! (Sorry for the bad quality pic, snapped it on my iPhone!)

All of the outfit, except the boots, came from the Our Generation line sold at Target. It came with  a bunch of stuff and was only $14.99. The boots we got at Michael's craft store really cheap because we had a coupon!

Well, I hope that today you all appreciate and love on your mother's! Don't forget to tell them how much you love them, either! :)

Until next time...

American Girl Place D.C.

Today we decided to take a trip to American Girl Place DC. Since we only live about half an hour from it, it wasn't that long of a drive. DC traffic can get really bad but thankfully today it wasn't bad at all. The store wasn't as crowded as I had thought it would be on a Saturday evening.

The sole purpose of this trip was to really get a brush or two for Kaydence's doll. When we bought her the first doll, we never thought about buying the brush until I read and learnt a lot about doll care. I probably could have ordered it online but I really didn't want to pay shipping when we could just drive there. :)

Well, without further ado, I'd love to introduce you to our newest doll, Julie! It was a last minute decision but she's the one Kaydence picked out and we happen to share the same name! :)
I was kind of hoping she would choose McKenna but I'm thinking that when we go back for Kay's birthday, we'll get her. I had made reservations at the Cafe about two months ago so we could go have lunch for Kaydence's 4th birthday! She's going to love it.

Now we're home enjoying our new doll and getting ready to head off to bed. Well, the kids are headed off to bed. I may stay up and sew some new clothes for Julie! :)

Let's Build!

I have always considered myself to be a pretty crafty person! I've always loved scrapbooking and when I recieved my Cricut machines for Christmas, my love for it only grew. Once my daughter got her AG doll, we started looking into accessories for her. The beds, closets and other items were on the pretty expensive side. Any other time, I honestly wouldn't think twice about dropping money for her doll items but I wanted to find a way to make it more special.

A crafty friend of mine who is also my very best friend, turned me on to a great site. Ana-White.com. She is a mom who is extremely talented in all things BUILDING! I loved it from the first time I saw it and I was truely inspired. Her plans were FREE and EASY! I couldn't turn down the challenge.

The first thing we built was a Farmhouse bed for Baby Kay. The materials cost us $20. Here is the end result:

I'll be the first to admit, I'm not great at sewing. I am pleased to announce that I did recieve a sewing machine for my birthday though! I've gotten better so I hope to make a new mattress for the bed soon. I've made a practice comforter and pillows, which aren't shown, but I'm crazy and like them to match and right now they don't. :)

Our second building project was a doll armoire for her clothes. This obviously took a little longer and isn't perfect but we plan to build a second.

Our latest project was a doll high chair. Currently, it's unfinished. It needs to be sanded and painted. Kaydence was dying to play with it though so we have it inside being put to good use!

I can't wait for our next project! I think we've decided it's going to be the doll sized picnic table! Stay tuned!

Here is Ana White's website in case you want to take a look!
